Electronic voting equipment is tested and certified by the Commission for use in Wisconsin. Most municipalities rely on electronic voting systems to tabulate election results. State law requires pre-election testing of voting equipment before every election. Following each general election, selected municipalities conduct a post-election audit to ensure that the voting equipment accurately counted the votes it reported. Both the Commission and clerks follow detailed security procedures to ensure that electronic voting systems safely, securely, efficiently, and accurately count votes in all elections.
